Tehran - BORNA - Seyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, spoke and exchanged views on the latest status of bilateral relations and regional and international developments today (Wednesday) in a phone call with Wang Yi, the Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China.
Iran's Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for China's responsible and principled stance in declaring the so-called "snapback" process illegal in the UN Security Council, stating: "The constructive cooperation of China, Iran, and Russia in confronting the unilateralism of the US and some Western countries in the United Nations was highly important and was also supported by 121 member states of the Non-Aligned Movement."
Referring to the continuation of the Zionist regime's provocative actions in the West Asia region, Araghchi added: "The international community must stand against the warmongering and dominant policies of this regime and prevent the escalation of the crisis in the region."
During the conversation, the Chinese Foreign Minister, Wang Yi, emphasized the strategic relations between Tehran and Beijing and the necessity of maintaining constant coordination and contact between the two countries in the UN and other multilateral forums.
Wang Yi also praised the peaceful approach of Iran's nuclear program and stressed the nuclear rights of the Islamic Republic of Iran as a key member of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).
The two sides also referred to the constructive meeting between the Presidents of the two countries in September and the upcoming session of the High-Level Mechanism, emphasizing the determination of the political leaders of Iran and China to advance the understandings reached within the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. They expressed hope that these agreements would be operationalized through executive mechanisms between the two countries.
Finally, the parties agreed to continue close diplomatic contacts and joint efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation in the coming year, which coincides with the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Iran and China.
