Iran opens the country’s largest coal mine rescue base in Tabas

Tehran - BORNA - The facility, built on a 15,000-square-meter site with 4,200 square meters of indoor space, is designed to respond to mining accidents and improve safety standards across the sector.

Officials say the specialized base will play a key role in enhancing occupational safety and mitigating risks in coal mines.

Tabas is located in Iran’s northeastern province of South Khorasan, which holds about 70% of the country’s coal reserves.
