Tehran - BORNA - Lebanon's Foreign Minister, Youssef Raji, officially apologized to Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi for not accepting Tehran’s invitation for an official visit at the current time.
According to Al-Nashra website, Raji explained that the refusal of the invitation does not mean rejecting dialogue, but suitable conditions for such a meeting are not currently available.
In the message, Raji reiterated his invitation to Araghchi to hold a bilateral meeting in a neutral third country that both sides can agree upon.
He further emphasized Lebanon's "full readiness to establish a new era of constructive relations with Iran based on mutual respect."
The Lebanese Foreign Minister also stated that he "firmly believes that building a strong state is only possible when the monopoly on arms is in the hands of the government and the national army, and decisions regarding war and peace are entrusted to the official sovereignty of the state."
