Futsal: From Asia to the World Cup

The Iranian women’s futsal team secured third place in the Asian Championship after defeating China in the playoff, earning a ticket to the inaugural FIFA Women’s Futsal World Cup, scheduled for December in the Philippines.

Maral Torkaman, a standout star, was crowned top scorer of the Asian Championship with six goals in six matches.

Football: A Ticket to the Asian Cup

Iran’s women’s football team dominated Group A of the Asian Cup qualifiers, defeating Singapore (4–0), Bhutan (7–0), and the UAE (2–1) to advance to the continental finals.

Basketball: Breaking New Ground

The women’s national basketball team claimed second place in Division B of the Asia Cup. Meanwhile, the under-16 team won the West Asia Championship, securing a spot in Division B of the Asia Cup in Malaysia.

Reyhaneh Mobeini made history by winning Iran’s first-ever women’s gold medal in athletics at the Asian Championships, claiming victory in the long jump with a mark of 6.40m.

Iranian sanda fighters shone at the World Cup in China, with Shahrbanoo Mansourian and Sedigheh Daryaei both taking gold, while Soheila Mansourian earned silver. Later in Brazil, Iranian women once again stole the spotlight: Zahra Kiani secured Iran’s first-ever women’s gold in Taolu, while Mansourian sisters and Daryaei swept three gold medals in sanda.

At the Asian Junior Championships, Iranian girls collected nine medals across sanda and taolu, including golds from Yekta Adibi and Rezvan Mouchani.

Iran’s junior, youth, and under-21 karate teams dominated the Asian Championships, winning 11 medals—six of them gold. This remarkable haul underscored the rise of a bold new generation ready to power the senior squad.

At the World Combat Games in Chengdu, Iranian women captured two golds and one bronze. Sara Bahmanyar became Iran’s first female karate world champion in the event, Yasaman Baqerzadeh triumphed in wushu, and Soheila Mansourian earned bronze.

Iranian women shooters also excelled. Hanieh Rostamian won bronze in the 10m air pistol mixed event at the Asian Championships. Marzieh Parvareshnia earned silver in mixed trap, while junior shooter Parimah Amiri collected two silvers and one bronze.

Samira Khak-Khah won silver in the under-63kg division at the Asian Junior Championships, ending a seven-year medal drought for Iranian junior judo.
