Tehran - BORNA - According to the Army’s Public Relations, Brigadier General Ahmadreza Purdastan, head of the Strategic Studies Center of the Iranian Army, in an interview regarding the imposed 12-day war, stated: “The American-Hebrew-Western coalition, trampling on all human and moral standards and disregarding international treaties, launched a broad assault against Iran.”
He added: “In the 12-day Sacred Defense, the Islamic Republic of Iran fought not only the Zionist regime but the entire military capacity of NATO. This means the Zionist regime entered the battlefield against Islamic Iran with massive U.S.-Western military backing.”
Purdastan explained that in any operation focused on air offensives, the first line of defense facing the aggressor is the air defense system. “The enemies, with the advanced technologies at their disposal, try to disable this barrier through destruction or by employing cyberattacks and electronic warfare. In the recent war, they undertook such measures,” he said.
He further underlined that most of the Armed Forces’ air defense systems are domestically built, designed, manufactured, and maintained by innovative Iranian youth. “That is why, immediately after the 12-day Sacred Defense, the necessary scientific, technical, and industrial efforts for restoration, reconstruction, and readiness of the systems began, and thankfully, great strides have been made in this field,” he noted.
On the use of lessons from the 12-day Sacred Defense, the head of the Army’s Strategic Studies Center said: “One of the main duties of research and study centers is continuous monitoring of domestic and regional environments, forecasting developments, analyzing battles, and extracting experiences and lessons learned.”
He recalled that, “Regarding the 12-day Sacred Defense, numerous scientific research projects and specialized meetings have been held, the outcome of which has been a wealth of lessons and findings that have been compiled and made available to decision-makers and policymakers.”
