Tehran - BORNA - Speaking at his weekly press conference on Monday, Baghaei said that despite the recent understanding reportedly reached in Sharm el-Sheikh, Israel continues to commit massacres in Gaza and the West Bank, repeatedly violating the ceasefire.
He added that the Rafah crossing remains closed and that “the guarantors of the ceasefire, especially the United States, through their silence and inaction, have allowed Israel’s crimes to continue.”
The senior Iranian diplomat also expressed concern over recent clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan, urging both sides to exercise restraint and emphasizing that regional stability is vital.
Baghaei said Tehran welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire between the two neighboring countries on Sunday, expressing hope that “the process will lead to mutual understanding and prevent a recurrence of such conflicts.”
Referring to the recent ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) held in Uganda, Baghaei added that 120 member states opposed the illegal actions of three European countries against Iran at the UN Security Council and voiced support for Iran’s legitimate positions and rights.
