Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says it is fully prepared to deepen strategic cooperation with the Yemeni armed forces in the battle against global arrogance and international Zionism.

Tehran - BORNA - In a message on Sunday, IRGC Chief Commander Major General Mohammad Pakpour extended his condolences to the Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Armed Forces, Brigadier General Youssef Hassan Al-Madani, following the martyrdom of Major General Mohammad Abd al-Karim al-Ghamari, who succumbed to injuries he had sustained in Israeli airstrikes in August, alongside several companions and his 13-year-old son, Hussein.

Pakpour said Ghamari’s martyrdom would only increase the determination of the heroic Yemeni nation to confront the sworn enemies of Muslim nations in their battle for the oppressed people and justice-seekers, especially the people of Palestine and Gaza.

The IRGC chief also congratulated Madani on his appointment as Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Armed Forces, saying it heralds the continuation of Ghamari’s path and the strengthening of the resistance front against the enemies.

In a televised statement on Thursday, the Yemeni military said Ghamari was martyred while carrying out duties in support of Palestine. The statement described him and his comrades as steadfast fighters committed to their cause with deep knowledge and experience.

The August 28 airstrike also martyred Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmad al-Rahawi and several ministers. The Sana'a government was holding a routine workshop to assess its activities over the past year when it was targeted by Israeli warplanes.
