The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Legal and International Affairs of Iran has traveled to Saudi Arabia with an agenda focused on strengthening cooperation.

Tehran - BORNA - Kazem Gharibabadi, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Legal and International Affairs of Iran, announced his trip to Saudi Arabia on Wednesday via a message on the social media network X (formerly Twitter), aimed at expanding bilateral relations and coordination.

During this visit, he met and held discussions with Abdulrahman Al-Rassi, the Deputy Minister for International Affairs at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The main focus of these consultations was to strengthen cooperation between the two countries in areas related to international, regional, and multilateral organizations, as well as human rights issues and legal and judicial cooperation.

Gharibabadi emphasized the positive impact of good relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia at the regional and international levels, writing: "By leveraging existing commonalities and under the shadow of mutual respect and good neighborliness, Iran and Saudi Arabia can pursue the common interests of their nations and regional peace and stability in complex international conditions."

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the growing trend of cooperation in regional and international bodies, exchanged views on developments related to human rights, judicial cooperation, and strengthening the role of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister also stressed the necessity of increasing the OIC's effectiveness on important issues, including condemning the crimes of the occupying regime in Gaza and its aggressions in the region, and expanding cooperation among the organization's members.

He concluded by expressing hope that with the continuation of constructive communication and dialogue between the two governments, the growing trend of Iran-Saudi relations would continue with greater speed and quality.
