An informed American source announced that the Ukrainian government has reached an agreement with the White House on the terms of a peace treaty to end the war.

Tehran - BORNA - A US official told ABC News today (Tuesday) that a Ukrainian delegation has reached an agreement with the United States on the terms of a potential peace treaty.

The American official stated that Dan Driskoll, the US Secretary of the Army, held confidential talks with a Russian delegation in the United Arab Emirates on Monday to follow up on the recent negotiations with Ukraine in Geneva, which aimed to advance the peace process in Ukraine.

The American official said: "The Ukrainians have agreed to the peace agreement. A few small details remain to be clarified, but they have agreed to a peace agreement."

This unannounced meeting with the Russian delegation on Monday followed discussions held between the US and Ukraine in Geneva this week and represents the latest sign of progress for the new US plan to revive the peace process in Ukraine.

Coordination and Plan Details

Jeffrey Talbert, a US Army spokesperson, said today: "The Secretary of the Army and his team have been in talks with the Russian delegation to achieve a sustainable peace in Ukraine. Negotiations are going well, and we remain optimistic. Driskoll is completely coordinated with the White House and various US government agencies in these talks."

Neither Ukraine nor Russia has officially confirmed the presence of their delegations in Abu Dhabi.

According to ABC News, the 28-point peace plan presented by the US to Ukraine in Geneva has now been reduced to a 19-point plan, which no longer includes clauses related to "amnesty" for actions taken during the war or limits on the future size of the Ukrainian military.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in a nighttime speech on Monday that more work is needed on the revised plan.

Following the weekend talks, Russian officials had stated that they had received no updates regarding what was discussed in Geneva or the modifications made after the negotiations between US and Ukrainian officials.

At the conclusion of the Geneva talks, [Secretary of State Marco] Rubio returned to the US, and Driskoll traveled to Abu Dhabi for a confidential meeting with a Russian delegation; a meeting where changes made to Washington's 28-point plan were discussed.

According to the US media outlet, the key role of the US Secretary of the Army in President Donald Trump’s efforts to revive the peace talks became apparent after a conversation two weeks ago between Trump and his Vice President, J.D. Vance.

Typically, the Secretary of the Armed Forces would not be involved in such a significant diplomatic initiative; however, ABC reports that sending a military official may have been regarded as a positive step by both Russia and Ukraine.
