The Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly stated that Iranian students have historically been the social leaders in the fight against dominators and autocrats, adding that the system of domination harbors historical animosity toward Iranian students for resisting its plunder.

Tehran - BORNA - Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly (Parliament), congratulated students on the upcoming Student Day during his pre-agenda speech at today's open session. He affirmed that throughout the contemporary history of Iran, students have been the social leaders in the struggle against foreign domination and internal autocrats. He noted that students not only followed others in this regard but also paved the way for other segments of society.

Democracy and Development Will Not Emerge from the Barrel of Domination

Ghalibaf asserted that the system of domination, led by the United States, holds "historical resentment and animosity" towards Iranian students. This animosity, he said, stems from the fact that Iranian students stood alone against the plunder of the foreign powers, sacrificing their lives so that the Iranian nation could achieve the historical awareness that "democracy and development will not emerge from the barrel of the system of domination." He stressed that sustainable progress and security will only be achieved by relying on the self-reliant power of the Iranian nation.

The Speaker commemorated the three martyrs of the December 7th (Azar 16) incident, along with other student martyrs, especially those who fell during the Sacred Defense era and the recent 12-day war.

Successful Missile Test and Condemnation of GCC Claims

Speaker Ghalibaf extended congratulations to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy for the successful staging of the massive "Shahid Mohammad Nazeri" power drill in the Persian Gulf, the Naz'at Islands, and the Strait of Hormuz. He noted that the missiles used in the drill accurately struck their designated targets.

He added that the successful test launch of effective, precise missiles with a range exceeding the entire length of the Persian Gulf—a result of the efforts of Iranian elites—was "extremely pleasing" to the Iranian nation.

Ghalibaf then forcefully condemned the recent claims made in the final statement of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regarding the Iranian islands.

"We strongly and decisively condemn the baseless and unfounded claims reiterated in the recent GCC statement concerning the Iranian islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa," he emphasized. He added that these "baseless and ridiculous claims," often made under the provocation of other countries, contradict the principle of respecting the territorial integrity of nations and good neighborliness.

Do Not Test Iran's Will

Ghalibaf issued a stern warning to regional neighbors: "Our recommendation to the neighbors is not to test the will of the Iranian nation to defend its territorial integrity and the Iranian islands of the Persian Gulf, which are integral parts of Iran's body."

He stressed that Iran consistently seeks to establish stability, expand peace, and respect the principles of good neighborliness, and expects the same from its neighbors.

Finally, the Speaker called on the government to pay special attention in next year's budget bill to providing funds and preparing the groundwork for implementing Article 61 of the Seventh Development Plan, which focuses on the development of the Iranian islands of Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa.

Call for Full Support for National Football Team

In a concluding note, the Speaker addressed sports, stating: "Given the results of the draw for the Iranian national team in the Football World Cup and the President's special attention to this matter, it is necessary that all facilities be provided for the comprehensive and professional preparation of the national team, especially arranging friendly matches with high-quality teams based on the technical staff's request and discretion." He concluded by wishing the national team success in the upcoming matches.
