An extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, condemning the Zionist regime's recognition of "Somaliland" and warning against plans for the forced displacement of Palestinians.

Tehran - BORNA - The OIC held an extraordinary meeting of its Executive Committee at the level of permanent representatives today (Thursday) at its headquarters in Jeddah to discuss developments in the Federal Republic of Somalia. The meeting, attended by more than 30 member states, followed the Zionist regime's move to recognize the region known as "Somaliland" as an independent country.

In the final statement, participants categorically condemned and rejected "Israel’s" action, reaffirming full solidarity with the Republic of Somalia and the commitment of members to support its security, stability, unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

Rejection of Forced Displacement Plans

In a special section regarding Palestine, the statement completely rejected any potential link between this move and efforts for the forced displacement of the Palestinian people. It declared explicit opposition to any plan, policy, or call that leads in any way to the forced relocation of Palestinians—internally or externally, including the Gaza Strip—or to changing the geographical and demographic composition of the occupied territories.

The statement also warned all countries to refrain from any direct or indirect cooperation with the Zionist regime's forced displacement plans. It emphasized that any potential cooperation in this regard could constitute a gross violation of international law and international humanitarian law, leading to legal accountability.

Condemnation of Settlement Expansion and Annexation

The meeting condemned the racist decisions of the Knesset against the Palestinian people and prisoners, as well as illegal annexation and settlement plans aimed at altering the status of the occupied territories, including Al-Quds. The OIC emphasized the necessity of ending "Israel's" illegal colonial occupation based on international law, UN resolutions, and relevant international judicial rulings, including the dismantling of the settlement system.
