Beijing has condemned remarks by the EU’s top diplomat, calling them “ideologically biased” and lacking in historical understanding.

Tehran - BORNA - Mao Ning, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, on Thursday dismissed comments made by Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who described recent gatherings of dozens of world leaders in China as an “authoritarian get-together” posing a “direct challenge” to the West.

“The statements by the EU representative are filled with ideological prejudice and lack even the most basic historical knowledge. They openly incite confrontation and hostility,” Mao told reporters.

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson also responded to claims made by U.S. President Donald Trump, who alleged a plot between Russia, China, and North Korea following a military parade in Beijing marking the 80th anniversary of Victory Day.

“China’s relations with other countries are never targeted at any third party,” Mao said, rejecting Trump’s accusations that Moscow, Beijing, and Pyongyang are “conspiring against the United States.”
