President’s Visit to Qatar Sends Strong Message Against Israeli Aggression
Speaking to Borna’s political desk, Mirabian said the president’s trip came at a critical moment when the Zionist regime launched an assault on Qatar aimed at assassinating leaders of the Palestinian resistance, particularly Hamas—an operation that ultimately failed.
He praised the government of Qatar, the Islamic world, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and Arab states for promptly calling for an extraordinary summit to address this grave threat, describing it as both timely and essential. “We hope such meetings will lead to concrete and practical outcomes,” he added.
Call for Decisive Measures
Mirabian underlined that Islamic and Arab countries must show firm reactions to such aggressions, even under heavy pressure from the United States. “At the very least, steps such as cutting economic, oil, port, and air ties with the Zionist regime are necessary,” he said.
While acknowledging that some countries may not be in a position to form a military alliance against Israel due to regional and security considerations, he stressed that this should not mean inaction. “They must, at the very least, manage their economic and diplomatic frameworks so that the occupying regime cannot exploit them,” he explained.
Regional Spillover
The former envoy warned that the current war would not remain confined to Gaza, pointing out that Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and now Qatar have also been drawn into the conflict. “The concern is that the crisis could further spread to countries such as Turkey and Saudi Arabia,” he noted.
Mirabian further said the Zionist regime, emboldened by covert U.S. support, recognizes no limits in its aggression. “If Islamic and Arab countries do not take serious measures now, every Arab and Islamic capital will be at risk,” he cautioned.
Iran’s Role
In conclusion, Mirabian expressed hope that the Islamic Republic of Iran could play an important role in guiding and supporting regional states in order to prevent the escalation of this bloody crisis.
