Iranian Table Tennis Player Makes History With First-Ever Women’s Feeder Medal
Iran has earned its first-ever women’s medal at an international table tennis feeder event, marking a historic breakthrough for the sport in the country.
Tehran - BORNA - National team player Shima Safaei defeated her Egyptian opponent in the quarterfinals of the Feeder Cappadocia tournament, advancing to the semifinals and securing at least a bronze medal.
Safaei thus became the first Iranian woman to win a medal at a global table tennis feeder competition. She is scheduled to face Japan’s representative today in her bid to reach the final.
