Constructive Talks Between Khatibzadeh and Tedros in Geneva
Iran’s Mission to the United Nations in Geneva announced a constructive bilateral meeting between Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh and World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.

Tehran - BORNA - According to the statement released on Saturday, the two sides discussed expanding cooperation with a focus on advancing health diplomacy.

Deputy Foreign Minister Khatibzadeh reaffirmed the strong support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the WHO’s vital role in global health governance.

For his part, Tedros wrote on his personal account on X (formerly Twitter) that he had discussed with the Iranian official ways to strengthen the resilience of Iran’s health system, particularly its primary healthcare foundation, as well as how WHO can continue providing assistance. He also highlighted the importance of global health agreements during the pandemic.
