Armed Forces General Staff Warns Ecuador over Listing of IRGC as Terrorist Group

Tehran - BORNA - In a statement the General Staff described Ecuador’s move as “irrational, feeble, illogical and illegal,” and accused the decision of serving “the interests of the global dominance system led by the terrorist-sponsoring United States and the rootless, fake Zionist regime.” The statement warned that such steps embolden what it called the “child-killing Zionist regime” and expand “the infrastructure of evil and insecurity” fostered by the United States, furthering genocide in Gaza, Palestine and other parts of the region.

The full text of the General Staff’s statement reads in part:

“This unreasonable, feeble, illogical and illegal decision by the government of Ecuador — taken in order to curry favor with the global hegemony led by the terrorist-sponsoring United States and the rootless, fake Zionist regime — expands the foundations of evil and insecurity in the world by the United States, and encourages the child-killing Zionist regime to commit genocide in Gaza, Palestine and even other countries of the region.

We ask the government of Ecuador: Is the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — which fights directly against the U.S.- and Israel-backed proxy terrorist groups and defends its nation, territory and territorial integrity — a terrorist organization? Or are the United States and the Zionist regime, which invade the lands of others, recognize no red lines for their aggression and flagrantly violate international law, the terrorists?

The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran declare that they will stand alongside the people of Palestine and Lebanon — especially the defenseless people of Gaza — in a firm and decisive defense of their nation and territory, and will defend their rights. We warn the government of Ecuador that, in its eagerness to please the hegemonic system, the United States and the fake Zionist regime, it must respect international and human rights law and refrain from aiding the false and satanic front.

The people of Islamic Iran and their brave sons in the Armed Forces — in particular the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — will act resolutely and courageously on the divinely guided path of powerful, enemy-shattering defense against any aggression at any level by anyone against their nation and territory, and especially against the expansionist demands of the terrorist-sponsoring United States and its regional locus of evil and terror, the Zionist regime. No threat will be able to weaken their firm and divinely ordained resolve.”
