Iran's VP calls for fully utilizing Iran-Russia potentials
Tehran - BORNA - Speaking at a meeting on Iran-Russia relations, Iran’s First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref said that both Tehran and Moscow have emphasized their determination to expand bilateral relations, particularly in boosting trade volume, during recent high-level meetings with the Russian Prime Minister.
Aref noted that as a neighboring state, Russia holds an important position in Iran’s foreign policy. He underlined that shared interests and extensive capacities in bilateral relations provide a solid foundation for strengthening cooperation between Tehran and Moscow.
He stressed that within this framework, enhancing coordination and fully utilizing the two countries’ capacities remain priorities, highlighting the importance of an active role for the Iran-Russia Joint Cooperation Commission.
Pointing to the priority of relations with Russia in Iran’s foreign policy, he further emphasized the significance of continued consultations between Tehran and Moscow in international forums.
Aref also underscored the need to make full use of all available opportunities, including increasing private-sector contacts and strengthening chambers of commerce.
The meeting, attended by relevant officials, reviewed and assessed the latest status of various areas of cooperation between Iran and Russia.
