Hezbollah: Activation of Snapback Reveals Collusion Between U.S. and European E3
Hezbollah has condemned the activation of the so-called “snapback mechanism” and the reimposition of international sanctions against Tehran, describing it as proof of collusion between the United States and the European Troika and the collapse of the last shred of their credibility in assuming responsibility oversensitive international matters.

Tehran - BORNA - In a statement issued by its Arab and International Relations Department, Hezbollah stressed: “The Islamic Republic of Iran did not withdraw from the 2015 nuclear agreement signed with the P5+1. It was the United States, under current President Donald Trump, that tore up the deal. It was not Iran that abandoned its commitments, but the European E3—Britain, France and Germany—that violated it. Therefore, the current move by these three states to activate the snapback mechanism and reimpose international sanctions against Tehran represents the fall of their last fig leaf of credibility and their failure to assume responsibility for sensitive issues on the global stage.”

The statement continued: “Insisting on triggering the mechanism—despite Iran’s cooperation through the recent agreement signed with the International Atomic Energy Agency in Cairo, and despite the existence of alternatives such as extending deadlines or giving more space to negotiations, initiatives, and understandings—demonstrates collusion between U.S. policies and those of the European Troika. Their aim is to tighten the siege on Iran, impose diktats, and deprive it of the benefits of the nuclear agreement. It also reflects direct and indirect involvement of the Troika in the war that the U.S. and the Zionist regime have waged against the Islamic Republic; a war not merely intended to destroy Iran’s nuclear capabilities, as aggressors claimed, but to overthrow the Islamic system and spread chaos and unrest inside Iran, as the leaders of the Zionist enemy themselves declared.”

Hezbollah recalled: “Statements by the German chancellor during the war against Iran—that Israel is carrying out this dirty mission on behalf of all of us—and the refusal of most Western states, including E3 members, to condemn Zionist aggression, or even their claim that such actions constitute Israel’s right to self-defense, reveal the extent of their complicity. Meetings were even held in European capitals to discuss alternatives to Iran’s current system. This confirms the depth of Western involvement in this criminal aggression, aimed at weakening Iran’s system, destabilizing the country, and destroying its defensive capabilities.”

Hezbollah further stated: “We believe the action of the European Troika, fully coordinated with the United States and the Zionist regime, represents the continuation of the dirty mission launched by the Zionists in their aggression against Iran—a mission defeated by the legendary steadfastness of the Islamic Republic, its leadership, people, and armed forces. In fact, Iran’s response delivered an unprecedented lesson to the enemy and forced the Zionists into submission and a hasty call for a ceasefire.”

The movement added: “By condemning the European Troika’s actions, we reaffirm the illegitimacy of such policies and stress that those behind them cannot be trusted to shoulder responsibility for sensitive issues around the world, especially in West Asia. This dangerously exposes how the UN Security Council has been turned into a platform for executing the policies of arrogant powers and achieving their objectives. It unmasks the lies and deceptions of those who claim to care about international law, peace, and stability, placing them fully responsible for all consequences and repercussions of this unlawful step.”

Hezbollah concluded: “We call on nations, powers, and free peoples of the world to refuse submission to these illegal and immoral measures. We urge them to work seriously to confront Western hegemony over UN institutions, which have become tools in the hands of arrogant powers. We also reaffirm our support for the Islamic Republic of Iran, under the leadership of Ayatollah Khamenei and the government and people of Iran, in resisting the logic of aggression and arrogance. Since the victory of its Revolution, Iran has endured siege and war and has become a model of resilience for nations confronting imperial powers, conspiracies, wars, and crimes. With God’s help, it will confront this new aggression with wisdom and courage. Its leadership, bolstered by the awareness and support of the proud Iranian people, will remain a beacon for the free people of the world.”
