The attacks, he said, marked continuation of the regime’s military aggression against such economically-critical civilian targets across the Arab Peninsula country as ports, airports, and food storage facilities.
He called for an end to the United Nations' inaction in the face of the flagrant atrocities that the regime had been emboldened to commit on the back of the United States and some other Western countries’ all-out political support.
The support has likewise prompted the regime to feel assured of going unpunished, despite its other deadly crimes throughout the West Asia region, Baghaei added.
He cited the regime’s October 2023-present war of genocide against the Gaza Strip and other instances of genocidal aggression throughout the occupied territories as a case in point.
"All regional and global governments have a legal and moral responsibility to confront the genocide in occupied Palestine and hold the regime’s officials accountable for their heinous crimes."
Baghaei condemns Israel’s ‘terrorist aggression’ against Lebanon
In the same context, the spokesperson lambasted the Israeli regime’s ongoing violations of a ceasefire agreement achieved last year towards ending more than a year of its escalated deadly attacks against Lebanon.
The “terrorist” assaults amounted to an open violation of an independent country’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity, contravention of international law, and direct aggression targeting Lebanese civilians and the nation’s economic vitality.
He noted that the attacks had been intentionally coincided with Lebanon’s efforts at boosting tourism during the summertime as a means of recuperating the damages that had already been caused by Tel Aviv’s strikes.
This, he said, “indicates that the Zionist regime is intent upon disrupting the Lebanese people’s economic stability and welfare even further.”
