Iran to Host SCO Counter-Terrorism Drill 'Sahand-Anti-Terror-2025'
Tehran - BORNA - Olarbek Sharshiev, Director of the Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) of the SCO, said on Friday that the joint SCO counter-terrorism exercise, codenamed "Sahand-Anti-Terror-2025," will take place in Iran on December 4.
Reporting the news, RIA Novosti quoted Sharshiev as saying, while referring to the results of the recent SCO counter-terrorism drill in Tajikistan: "The Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure is completing preparations for the final events of the joint counter-terrorism exercise of the competent authorities of the SCO member states, titled 'Sahand-Anti-Terror-2025'."
He noted that the joint exercise and its closing ceremony would be held on December 4 near Tabriz.
The SCO official announced: "Invitations and the program will soon be sent to the participants and observers of this exercise."
The final stage of the joint counter-terrorism exercise of the competent authorities of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), titled "CIS-Anti-Terror-2025," concluded on Friday (yesterday) in Tajikistan with the support of the CIS Anti-Terrorism Center.
Representatives of seven CIS member states, including Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, participated in that stage.
