Qatar Prime Minister: Serious US-Iran Talks Could Lead to a Better Deal for All
Tehran - BORNA - Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Qatar, announced during a brainstorming session in New York: "We are working to contact the United States and Iran to ensure the return of negotiations to their correct path."
The Qatari Prime Minister reiterated that holding serious negotiations between the U.S. and Iran "can lead to a better agreement for all."
On another note, he clarified that Qatar's focus is currently directed toward guaranteeing the stability and durability of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
Quoting Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, he stated: "We contacted Washington to contain the violation of the ceasefire by the Zionist regime in Gaza yesterday."
The Qatari Foreign Minister mentioned that Hamas has affirmed its readiness to relinquish governance of Gaza, and Qatar is focused on establishing a political vision for the Palestinian people.
He added that the violations of the Gaza ceasefire agreement by the "Zionist regime" yesterday were "very disappointing" for Qatar.
The Qatari official also noted: "We are ready to mediate between the United States and Venezuela, but there has been no tangible progress so far."
