Iran to UN: Trump's Admission Proves US International Liability for Iran Attacks
Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations told the Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council regarding the US President's statement on the direct role of the United States in the recent aggressions by the Zionist regime against Iran: "The United States and the Zionist regime are fully and jointly responsible for their aggressions and the resulting consequences against Iran."

Tehran - BORNA - Amir Saeid Iravani, referring to the recent statement by the President of the United States, in which he explicitly and publicly acknowledged the US leadership and responsibility for the twelve days of aggressive acts and criminal war by the Zionist regime against the Islamic Republic of Iran, from June 13 to June 24, 2025, said: On Thursday, November 6, 2025, Trump told reporters: "The first strike was conducted by [the] Israeli [regime]. It was a very, very powerful strike, [and] I personally commanded it."

He further added: "When [the] Israeli [regime] launched the first strike against Iran, it was a great day for [the] Israelis because that strike caused more damage than the total of all other strikes."

Iran's representative in New York stated: "These remarks constitute clear and undeniable evidence of the direct involvement, leadership, and command responsibility of the United States in designing, directing, and facilitating the illegal military aggression of the Zionist regime. These criminal aggressions, which constitute a gross and serious violation of Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, the peremptory norms prohibiting the threat or use of force against sovereign states, and international humanitarian law, led to numerous civilian casualties, destruction of civilian infrastructure, and serious damage to Iran's peaceful and safeguarded nuclear facilities."

Iravani said: "Furthermore, the explicit confession by the US President regarding his country's leading role and direct participation in the Zionist regime’s military aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran from the very first day clearly and unequivocally exposes the falsehood of the previous statement made by the US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, on June 13, 2025, during which he deceitfully claimed: 'We are not involved in the attacks against Iran, and our main priority is ensuring the safety of American forces in the region.' Given that this criminal confession by the highest official of the United States constitutes clear evidence with international legal implications and is undeniable in proving the responsibility and international fault of the US for these aggressive acts, the United States and the Zionist regime are fully and jointly responsible for their aggressions and the resulting consequences, including the killing of innocent people, widespread destruction of civilian property and infrastructure, and the deliberate targeting of Iran’s peaceful and safeguarded nuclear facilities."

Iravani noted: "This also re-emphasizes the inherent and sovereign right of the Islamic Republic of Iran to pursue all available international legal channels to ensure the full accountability of the US and its officials, and to claim full reparation, including compensation, under international law for the casualties, injuries, and all damages and losses inflicted upon the Islamic Republic of Iran and its people. Therefore, it would be appreciated if you would arrange for the distribution of the present communication as a document of the Security Council."
