Ryabkov: Europe is the Main Obstacle to Resolving Iran's Nuclear File
Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister stated that Europeans are the main impediment to resolving Iran's nuclear file based on a negotiated solution.

Tehran - BORNA - "The European Union is the main obstacle to achieving a negotiated solution regarding the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program." This was stated by Sergey Ryabkov, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister.

The senior Russian diplomat, speaking to the International Affairs magazine, stated: "We support our Iranian colleagues and friends in their efforts to achieve a negotiated solution."

He further emphasized that European countries "have reached a point in their political and geopolitical battles where they have practically turned their world upside down. They are now the main factor disrupting the path to finding a negotiated solution."

Ryabkov stressed that the role of the European Union and its member states is "extremely negative" for the entire system of international relations.

Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister said: "I can say there is no source of ideas and approaches as saturated with negative energy as modern Brussels and the main European capitals. This fundamentally affects everything, and the Iranian nuclear program is no exception."

Ryabkov's comments were made following the issuance of the anti-Iran resolution by the European Troika and the US at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors.
