Beijing demands immediate release of President Maduro
The Chinese government has called on the United States to immediately release the President of Venezuela, emphasizing that the crisis must be resolved through diplomatic channels.

Tehran - ISNA - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China issued a statement on Sunday declaring that the United States must immediately release Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. Beijing urged that the situation in Venezuela be settled through dialogue and negotiation.

In a statement published on its official website, the Ministry further emphasized that the U.S. must guarantee the personal safety of Maduro and his spouse, asserting that their forced removal from Venezuela constitutes a clear violation of international law and established global norms.

The military operation ordered by Donald Trump against Venezuela has sparked a wave of domestic and international criticism. Following their capture, Maduro and his wife were reportedly transferred to New York.

In response to these developments, anti-war protests have erupted in more than 75 cities across the United States. Demonstrators expressed their fierce indignation over the use of American taxpayers' money to fuel "warmongering policies" and military interventionism.

Beijing’s firm stance adds to the growing international pressure on Washington regarding the legality of the mission. Analysts suggest that the detention of a sovereign head of state has created a diplomatic crisis that may further strain relations between the U.S. and major global powers.
