Larijani: Success in Current Nuclear Talks Could Lead to Broader Engagement
Ali Larijani, the Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has suggested that if the current round of negotiations with the United States proves successful, there is potential for expansion, though he cautioned against prematurely raising expectations.

Tehran - BORNA - Speaking on the sidelines of his official visit to Oman, Larijani addressed the prospect of broader dialogue, stating that it is currently impossible to say with certainty whether this path will lead to discussions regarding other disputes with the U.S. He noted that multiple invitations have been received from the American side, but emphasized that only one stage of the negotiations has been completed. Larijani asserted that future developments will dictate the course of action, reiterating that Iran is seeking a swift resolution and is not interested in delaying the process.

The SNSC Secretary further clarified that if the primary American concern is ensuring that Iran does not pursue nuclear weapons, the issue is entirely resolvable. However, he warned that if matters beyond the nuclear scope are introduced into the negotiations, the process could face significant obstacles. Larijani concluded by emphasizing the importance of maintaining a realistic outlook and focusing on the outcomes of the upcoming phases of the dialogue.
