Tehran Enters Geneva Talks with 'Open Eyes,' Ready for Long-Term Negotiations
The spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Iranian delegation has arrived in Geneva with an "open mind and open eyes," emphasizing Tehran's readiness to extend its stay to ensure a result-oriented outcome.

Tehran - BORNA - On the sidelines of the second round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States in Geneva, Esmaeil Baghaei responded to a question regarding his expectations for today's talks. Stating that "we are here with an open mind and open eyes," he said: "The negotiation process began previously, and within this framework, we have been in talks with the Omani Foreign Minister since Monday, conveying our views, concerns, and demands. Simultaneously, we held a meeting with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Rafael Grossi, because as you know, the technical aspects of the negotiations must be consulted with the Agency, and they can play a positive role in this process."

He added: "We have our own technical experts and specialists in the field of sanctions relief at our disposal, as the lifting of sanctions is an inseparable part of any agreement regarding the nuclear issue."

Baghaei emphasized: "As I said, we are present here with good faith and complete seriousness, and we are result-oriented."

The Iranian diplomat noted: "Time is very important and vital for us, and for this reason, Mr. Araghchi has consistently said that we are ready to stay here for a longer period to finalize any agreement; for several days or even several weeks. We hope to see the same level of seriousness and good faith from the American delegation."

Furthermore, in an interview with the 14:00 news program of the IRIB, the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson said: "The indirect negotiations between Iran and the U.S. are being conducted seriously, and I think the talks will continue for another hour or two for now."

In response to a question regarding reports that we have somewhat entered technical discussions with the Americans in today's negotiations and what this signifies, Baghaei said: "As I previously announced, the Iranian representative delegation in these negotiations has a complete composition, and experts and specialists in the economic field, sanctions relief, and the technical and nuclear fields are present in our team."

Regarding the negotiations with Rafael Grossi, he clarified that the role played by the Director General of the Agency in this round of negotiations can be useful and effective.

The Foreign Ministry Spokesperson stated: "I assure the people of the Iranian nation that your children are obsessively and diligently seeking to secure the interests of the Iranian nation and realize them in the best possible way."

This member of the negotiating team, in response to a question about the scheduled negotiations on Ukraine also set to take place in Geneva on Tuesday afternoon with the presence of Americans, and whether these two negotiations are related, said: "These two have absolutely no connection to one another."

He also emphasized: "We are traversing this path with complete seriousness and are focused on realizing the interests of the Iranian people."
