Araghchi's Phone Call with Foreign Ministers of Regional Countries

Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in telephone conversations with his counterparts in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Iraq, while explaining current developments, described the military aggression against Iran as a gross violation of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter and an overt crime against international peace and security.

Tehran - BORNA - Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasized in calls with his regional counterparts that the Islamic Republic of Iran, based on the inherent right of legitimate defense, will utilize all its defensive and military capabilities to defend the sovereignty of Iran.

Referring to Iran's determination to continue the policy of good neighborliness and friendship with all countries in the region, and pointing to the fundamental principle of international law regarding the prohibition of any participation in an act of aggression against another country, the Foreign Minister reminded all regional countries of their responsibility to prevent the United States and the Zionist regime from exploiting their facilities and territory to carry out aggressive operations against Iran. He stated: "In exercising the inherent right to defend our country according to international law, the Iranian Armed Forces consider the origin and source of aggressive operations by the U.S. and the Zionist regime, as well as any action aimed at countering Iran's defensive operations, as legitimate targets."

Araghchi clarified: "The war imposed by the United States and the Zionist regime is not only against the Iranian nation but against all countries in the region; therefore, it is incumbent upon all Muslim nations and governments in the region to fulfill their historical responsibility to confront the sinister plot of the Zionist regime."
