IRGC: U.S. MST Combat Support Vessel Struck by Naval Missiles
Tehran - BORNA - In a statement, the IRGC addressed the Iranian nation, saying that the American MST combat support ship was severely hit by naval missiles fired by the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The statement further warned that other U.S. naval assets will remain within the operational range of the IRGC’s missiles and drones as operations continue.
What is an MST vessel?
MST commonly refers to Military Sealift Transport (or Military Sealift Command Transport) vessels—auxiliary ships used by the United States to provide logistical and operational support to naval forces. These ships typically transport fuel, ammunition, equipment, and supplies, and may also support troop movement and sustainment operations at sea. While they are not frontline combat warships, they play a critical role in maintaining naval deployments and military readiness.
