Rosatom CEO: Bushehr Nuclear Plant Operations Continue with Russian Experts Present
Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom, stated that the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant will continue operating and emphasized that the company remains committed to its obligations to the Iranian government for the Bushehr projects. Despite the military tensions, Russian experts continue their work at the plant.

Tehran - BORNA - Likhachev noted that work at Iran’s nuclear facility in Bushehr, where units 2 and 3 of the plant are being constructed, has not been halted.

Sputnik News reported Likhachev saying: “Due to the ongoing conflicts affecting Iran, predicting future developments is difficult, but our personnel will remain there regardless. This facility remains a top priority for us.”

He added: “We are responsible to the Iranian people and government for completing the Bushehr projects, including units 2 and 3, as well as the operation of unit 1.”

Likhachev also noted that a total of 639 Russian specialists are currently stationed at the Bushehr plant in Iran.

He stated: “There is no contact with the heads of Iran’s nuclear industry—no telephone or electronic communications exist.”

Likhachev confirmed that Rosatom maintains communication with the management of the Bushehr plant and that the facility is operating normally.

His remarks come amid escalating military tensions in West Asia, following illegal attacks by the United States and Israel against Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

In response, Iran targeted U.S. and Israeli bases and positions in the region and occupied territories during the Val-Fa-Sadeq 4 operations.
