Senior Security Source Responds to Aliyev’s Remarks
A senior informed security source responded to recent remarks by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, stating that if Iran had intended to attack Azerbaijan, it would not have done so with a small drone.
Tehran - BORNA - The source said that if Iran had any intention of conducting a defensive operation against another country, it would act in the same way it has in previous cases involving some countries south of Iran, and not by using a small drone.
“If Iran had intended to attack Azerbaijan, it would certainly not have done so with a small drone,” the source emphasized.
The informed source also stressed to the other side that restraint toward neighboring countries is a fundamental principle of Iran’s national security.
However, the source added that the limits of this restraint depend on the extent to which the other side cooperates or aligns with foreign enemies.
