Pezeshkian: Iran Will Respond to Attacks Originating From Any Country
Tehran - BORNA - Pezeshkian made the remarks in a speech while thanking the Iranian people for what he described as their strong and determined presence in supporting the country.
“We stand firmly against those who attack Iran and we will respond,” he said. “We are forced to respond from the territory of any country from which attacks are launched against us, and the greater the pressure imposed on us, the stronger our response will be.”
The president said Iran’s enemies are seeking to provoke conflict between Tehran and other Muslim countries and create divisions in the region.
“The enemy wants us to be at war with Islamic countries and to create discord between us,” Pezeshkian said. “We have repeatedly stated that we consider neighboring countries as brothers and we seek good relations with them. However, if attacks are carried out against our soil from any country, naturally we will have to respond.”
He emphasized that such responses should not be interpreted as hostility toward the people of those countries.
“This does not mean we want conflict with those countries or their people. We do not want to harm their populations, but if attacks originate from their territory, we will inevitably respond,” he said.
Referring to humanitarian principles, Pezeshkian said the killing of innocent people is condemned in Islamic teachings.
“In our religion and beliefs, the killing of any innocent human being is condemned,” he said, accusing the United States and Israel of killing civilians. “The United States and Israel have killed 168 innocent children without shame, and they do not feel ashamed of the massacre of 60,000 to 70,000 people in Gaza.”
Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran will firmly defend itself against aggression.
“Our people, our armed forces, and all volunteer forces across the country will defend Iran with all their strength and will thwart the enemy’s plans,” he said. “Iran will not bow easily to bullying, oppression, or aggression, and it will never retreat in the face of threats.”
The president also called for unity among regional countries, saying Iran seeks friendly relations with its neighbors.
“We are friends with the countries of the region and consider them our brothers. We must stand together and not allow Israel and the United States to deceive us into confronting each other,” he said.
Pezeshkian added that disagreements among regional actors should be resolved through dialogue rather than exploited by outside powers.
“If there are differences among us, we should resolve them among ourselves and not allow the policies designed by the United States and Israel to divide us,” he said.
Concluding his remarks, the Iranian president urged national unity inside Iran and called on citizens to demonstrate solidarity.
“We ask the dear people of Iran to remain united and present in society and show that we will defend our country and our land,” he said. “Despite any problems or concerns, all groups, factions, and viewpoints will stand together to protect Iran and its people, and we will not allow even one inch of our territory to be occupied.”
