Rosatom: No Attack Reported on Construction Site of New Units at Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant
The head of Russia’s state nuclear corporation said the situation around the Bushehr nuclear power plant in southern Iran remains complicated but confirmed that the facility itself and the construction site of its new units have not been targeted.

Tehran - BORNA - Alexey Likhachev, head of Rosatom, said in remarks regarding the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant in southern Iran that he regularly informs Vladimir Putin, President of Russia, about the situation at the plant as well as the status of Russian personnel working there.

Likhachev noted that the Russian president not only closely monitors developments related to the Bushehr facility but is also personally involved in addressing issues concerning the safety of Russian staff.

He added that a number of Russian personnel are currently engaged in servicing and maintaining equipment at the construction site of the new units of the Bushehr nuclear power plant.

Likhachev also announced that Rosatom will soon begin evacuating the family members of Russian employees, along with some personnel currently present at the construction site of the new units of the plant.

The Rosatom chief further said that a dedicated hotline has been established for the relatives of Russian workers employed at the Bushehr nuclear power plant.
