Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran, said that ending the ongoing war depends on guarantees that it will not be repeated and on the payment of compensation.

Tehran - BORNA - Araghchi made the remarks in an interview with Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, addressing the latest developments related to the conflict.

He said Iran is ready to establish a fact-finding committee with regional countries to investigate the targets that have been attacked during the recent hostilities.

The Iranian foreign minister stressed that Iran’s military operations have been limited to U.S. bases and interests in the region, adding that Tehran has not targeted civilian or residential areas in regional countries.

Araghchi also said the United States has developed a drone similar to Iran’s, named “Lucas,” and claimed that it has been used to attack targets in Arab countries.

He added that Israel may be behind attacks on civilian targets in some Arab states in an effort to damage their relations with Iran.

The Iranian foreign minister warned that if Iran’s energy infrastructure comes under attack, Tehran will target infrastructure belonging to U.S. companies operating in the region.

“Stopping this war depends on guarantees that it will not be repeated and on the payment of compensation,” Araghchi said.

He also warned that occupying Khark Island would be “an even bigger mistake than attacking it.”

Araghchi further noted that no specific initiative has yet been presented to bring an end to the war.
