Iran’s Foreign Minister emphasized the need for independent countries to exert pressure on the aggressor and initiator of the war in order to halt ongoing hostilities and prevent their recurrence.

Tehran - BORNA - Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India, held a telephone conversation with Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Foreign Minister of Iran, during which the two sides discussed regional and international developments in light of the continued military aggression by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran, its consequences, as well as the state of bilateral relations and cooperation.

During the call, Araghchi outlined the latest developments related to the aggressions by the United States and the Israeli regime and Iran’s legitimate defense, stressing the necessity for independent countries to apply pressure on the aggressor and the party that initiated the war in order to end these aggressions and ensure that no further violations of Iran’s sovereignty and national security occur.

Referring to the current situation in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, Araghchi noted that these conditions are part of the broader regional situation and a direct result of the hostile and aggressive actions of the United States and the Israeli regime. He emphasized that normalization of the situation depends on the cessation of attacks and aggressions, adding that ending the war must be accompanied by guarantees preventing its recurrence.

For his part, the Indian Foreign Minister underscored the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation across various fields and highlighted the need for efforts aimed at restoring stability and security in the region.
