Iran Envoy to Sri Lanka:
Strait of Hormuz Remains Open to Friendly Countries Including Sri Lanka
Iran’s ambassador to Sri Lanka emphasized that the country is regarded as a “friend” by Iran, stressing that the Strait of Hormuz is not closed to friendly nations.
Tehran - BORNA - Alireza Delkhosh, Iran’s ambassador to Sri Lanka, said on Monday afternoon that Sri Lanka is considered “a friend” of Iran, adding: “The Strait of Hormuz is not closed to friendly countries.”
He stated: “For this reason, Iran is always ready to provide essential needs for friendly countries such as Sri Lanka. If Sri Lanka requests oil or any other essential commodities, Iran will supply them.”
Delkhosh further emphasized: “We do not want to see any hardship in Sri Lanka or against its people. The people and the country of Sri Lanka are highly respected by Iran.”
