Lavrov, Araghchi Discuss Worsening Gulf Situation After US-Israeli Attacks
Russia’s Foreign Ministry announced that the foreign ministers of Russia and Iran held a phone conversation to discuss the situation in the Persian Gulf, which has significantly deteriorated following U.S. and Israeli aggression.
Tehran - BORNA - According to the statement, Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s foreign minister, stressed the unacceptability of U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, including the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant. He warned that such actions pose unacceptable risks to the safety of Russian personnel and carry potentially catastrophic environmental consequences for all countries in the region.
The two ministers also expressed concern over the risk of the conflict, provoked by Washington, D.C. and Tel Aviv, spreading to the Caspian Sea.
