Iran: No Need for Extra-Regional Presence to Secure Strait of Hormuz
The spokesperson for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters stated that there is no need for any extra-regional country to control the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing that Iran’s armed forces, in cooperation with regional countries, are capable of ensuring security in the Persian Gulf.

Tehran - BORNA - Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesperson for the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said that the Islamic Republic of Iran holds full initiative in the Persian Gulf region and the territorial waters of Oman, and is controlling the Strait of Hormuz in a highly intelligent and authoritative manner.

He added that due to this level of dominance and capability, there is no need for mine-laying in the Persian Gulf, while stressing that Iran will use any necessary means to ensure security if required.

Zolfaghari further stated that Iran’s armed forces, with dominance over American and Zionist adversaries and in cooperation with regional countries, are capable of maintaining security in the Persian Gulf, and that extra-regional countries have no right to interfere in this matter.
