Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Thursday condemned the "illegitimate" Israeli strikes against civilians in Lebanon, warning that such actions are plunging the Middle East into a catastrophic humanitarian situation.

Tehran - BORNA -During a speech on Thursday, Fidan emphasized that the international community must accept that lasting peace, stability, and security in the Middle East will remain unattainable as long as the Israeli regime's "expansionist policies" continue.

Stopping Geopolitical Impositions

"Israel must be stopped from imposing its geopolitical goals on the region through foreign intervention," Fidan asserted. He accused the Netanyahu government of systematically using famine as a weapon against the people of Gaza, restricting freedom of worship in East Jerusalem, and taking illegal steps daily to undermine the two-state solution in the West Bank.

Gaza Scenario Repeated in Lebanon

The Turkish Foreign Minister noted that the same tactics used in Gaza are now being applied to Lebanon. "Even before a ceasefire framework could properly take shape, Israel’s continuous attacks in Lebanon—with total disregard for children and civilians—have left hundreds of victims and are driving the region toward a deeper humanitarian crisis," he added.

Fidan concluded by stating that ending the Israeli occupation of Lebanese territories and ensuring the protection of civilians has become an "urgent and non-negotiable priority."

His remarks align with recent diplomatic coordination between Ankara and Tehran, as both nations have expressed grave concern over the Zionist regime's attempts to sabotage the newly established ceasefire through continued military operations in Lebanon.
