Araghchi: The World Witnessed Iran’s Power; Iran-Russia Ties Will Continue with Everlasting Strength
Tehran - BORNA - During his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in St. Petersburg, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi underscored the depth of the strategic relations between Tehran and Moscow.
Araghchi expressed his pleasure at meeting Putin again and extended his gratitude for the Russian President’s message of condolence regarding the martyrdom of Iran’s late Leader, as well as his message of congratulations on the election of Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei as the new Supreme Leader.
The Iranian Foreign Minister stated: "The entire world witnessed Iran's true power in confronting the United States, and it became clear that the Islamic Republic of Iran is a stable, solid, and powerful system."
Referring to the recent war, he added: "In this conflict, it became evident that Iran has great friends and allies such as Russia; I thank you for your positions and support."
Araghchi, noting that he was carrying warm greetings from the Supreme Leader and President Pezeshkian for President Putin, said: "I have been asked during this trip to reaffirm that we view Iran-Russia relations as a strategic partnership. These ties will continue with their previous strength—in fact, they will persist with even greater power and breadth."
"The U.S. Failed to Achieve a Single Goal"
Araghchi also spoke to reporters on the sidelines of the meeting, stating: "It is clear that Iran has stood against the world's greatest superpower, and they have not achieved even one of their objectives. This is precisely why they have requested negotiations, which we are currently evaluating."
He concluded by emphasizing that Iran and Russia are strategic partners: "Russia has always supported us, as have we supported them, and our cooperation continues."
