Araghchi, Lebanese Speaker Discuss Regional Aggression and Islamabad Negotiations
Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Nabih Berri, the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, held a telephone conversation to discuss developments in Lebanon and the region, the progress of the Islamabad negotiations, and issues of mutual interest.

Tehran - BORNA - The two sides strongly condemned the aggressive actions of the Zionist regime against regional countries, including Lebanon, and emphasized the necessity of action by the international community to end these brutal measures in southern Lebanon—which have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of thousands of people, the destruction of residential areas and infrastructure of Lebanon, and the displacement of the residents of these areas—and agreed on the continuation of joint consultations and coordination.

In this conversation, while describing the latest status of the diplomatic process mediated by Pakistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs praised the exemplary resistance of the Lebanese people against the brutal attacks of the Zionist regime and emphasized the decisive support of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the people of Lebanon. He also stated: "The cessation of the Zionist regime's aggressions against Lebanon was part of the ceasefire understanding between Iran and the U.S., and this issue will be of concern to the Islamic Republic of Iran in any future process as well."

The Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, referring to the cases of repeated violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon by the Zionist regime and the heroic resistance of the Lebanese people against the military aggression of the Zionist regime, emphasized the necessity of increasing international pressures and adopting the necessary measures to hold this regime accountable for its actions.

Nabih Berri also expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by our country in support of Lebanon's rightful positions.
