Chinese FM: US-Israeli war against Iran 'illegitimate and illegal'
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has characterized the war waged by the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran as "illegitimate and illegal," calling for the establishment of a comprehensive ceasefire.

Tehran - BORNA - During a high-stakes meeting with his Iranian counterpart, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, in Beijing on Wednesday, the Chinese Foreign Minister emphasized that the region is passing through a "decisive turning point."

"We are ready to continue our efforts to reduce the intensity of tensions. The establishment of a complete ceasefire is an essential and inevitable necessity," Wang Yi stated. He further stressed the importance of direct meetings between the involved parties to navigate the current crisis.

Iran: Only a Fair and Comprehensive Agreement is Acceptable

For his part, Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi reiterated Tehran’s steadfast position, stating: "We will only accept a fair and comprehensive agreement."

Expressing gratitude for China’s stance, particularly its condemnation of U.S. and Israeli actions, Araghchi described China as a "close friend" of Iran. He emphasized that under the current circumstances, bilateral cooperation will grow even stronger.

"The war initiated against us is a clear act of aggression and a blatant violation of international law," Araghchi noted. He added that Iran would exert all efforts during negotiations to protect its legitimate rights and interests.

Araghchi's visit to Beijing follows a series of regional consultations aimed at addressing the ongoing conflict and mobilizing diplomatic support for Iran’s positions.
