Vance to meet Qatari PM at White House to discuss Iran
U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance is scheduled to meet with Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani at the White House on Friday, local time, Axios reported.

Tehran - BORNA - A U.S. official told Axios regarding the meeting that the Qataris serve as one of the most significant informal communication channels between Iran and the United States in the negotiations aimed at reaching an agreement to end the war.

It is noteworthy that officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran have repeatedly declared that they will not participate in negotiations under a climate of threats and while the illegal U.S. naval blockade remains in place.

Meanwhile, the recent amendment by U.S. officials to Iran’s latest proposal is still under review in Tehran.

Iran emphasizes that in the first stage, a temporary understanding must be reached regarding the termination of the war, the lifting of the naval blockade, and subsequently the removal of restrictions on vessel transit in the Strait of Hormuz, before other issues can be negotiated.
