Envoy: Beijing can act as guarantor for any potential regional agreement
Iran’s Ambassador and Special Representative to the People’s Republic of China emphasized that any potential agreement must be backed by major powers, suggesting that Beijing is well-positioned to serve as a guarantor.

Tehran - BORNA - Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli, Iran’s plenipotentiary envoy to Beijing, shared his insights in a post on X (formerly Twitter), stating that international guarantees are essential for the sustainability of any diplomatic accord.

"Any potential agreement must certainly be accompanied by guarantees from major powers and should also be presented to the United Nations Security Council," Rahmani Fazli wrote.

The ambassador further highlighted the strategic influence of Moscow and Beijing in global affairs. "China and Russia are two major and influential powers. Given the significant standing China holds for Iran and other nations in the Persian Gulf region, Beijing can be proposed as a guarantor for any agreement," he added.

These remarks underscore Tehran's strategic pivot toward seeking multi-lateral international frameworks and the involvement of Eastern powers to ensure the longevity of regional diplomatic efforts.
