Naim Qassem: Hezbollah thankful for Iran's continuous, sincere support
The Secretary-General of the Lebanese resistance group Hezbollah has thanked Iran for the continuous and sincere support it has provided to the group over the past five decades.

Tehran - BORNA - Sheikh Naim Qassem said in a Wednesday message to the head of Iranian seminary schools that Hezbollah has enjoyed Iran's support since a decree was issued by the Founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini, in the early 1980s, to support the establishment of the resistance group.

Sheikh Qassem said Iran has continued to provide consistent and generous support since then under the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and through the channels provided by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and its Quds Force.

“We appreciate the sincere and continuous support of the Islamic Republic of Iran from the beginning to this day,” said the Hezbollah leader in his message to Ayatollah Alireza A'rafi, a member of both the Constitutional Council and the Assembly of Experts.

Sheikh Qassem said Iran and the IRGC's Quds Force's support was key to Hezbollah's successful liberation of territories in southern Lebanon from Israeli occupation in 2000 and to achieving a decisive victory against the Israeli regime in the 2006 war.

He said that Hezbollah continues to fight Israel as a “savage aggressor” that still seeks to occupy territories in the Muslim countries of the region and deprive them of their sense of self-determination.

The Hezbollah chief said the Israeli enemy and its supporters have gained nothing but “disappointment, retreat, and defeat” from their fight with Hezbollah over the past couple of years, despite the assassination of the group's former Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and its senior commanders.

Sheikh Qassem said that the recent US-Israeli aggression against Iran was in fact an assault on the flag of resistance, independence, and support for Palestine and Quds, as he insisted that the Iranian nation and its leadership will emerge victorious from the current battle.
