Araghchi: Hormuz Strait remains open to all commercial vessels
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi stated that the Strait of Hormuz is open to all commercial shipping, noting that current disruptions are a direct result of illegal U.S. blockades and aggression.

Tehran - BORNA - In an interview on the sidelines of the BRICS Foreign Ministers' Meeting in New Delhi, Araghchi addressed the situation in the strategic waterway. "In our view, the Strait of Hormuz is open to all commercial vessels; however, they must cooperate with our naval forces," the Foreign Minister said.

Araghchi emphasized that Iran has not created any obstacles for international shipping, placing the blame for regional instability on Washington's policies. "The Strait of Hormuz is currently suffering, above all, from U.S. aggression and the blockade it has imposed," he noted.

The Iranian top diplomat concluded by expressing hope for a return to normalcy in the region's maritime trade, stating: "We have created no barriers; it is the United States that has established a blockade. I hope this situation ends with the lifting of this illegal blockade imposed by the U.S."
