Iran’s UN Mission: US uses intimidation and threats to garner support for anti-Iran resolution
Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations has strongly criticized the United States' efforts to display international support for its proposed resolution against Tehran, stating that many countries joined the resolution under pressure, coercion, and even threats.

Tehran - BORNA -  The Iranian Mission to the UN in New York described the U.S. attempt to showcase a large number of co-sponsors for its anti-Iran resolution as "deceptive" in a post on the X social media platform.

"The U.S. attempt to present the number of countries supporting its political resolution as a sign of broad international backing and Iran's isolation is both ridiculous and deceptive," the message stated.

The Iranian Mission further emphasized: "No amount of forced support can legitimize Washington's continuous actions against Iran, which are in violation of international law."

The message also pointed to actions such as the naval blockade, attacks on and illegal seizure of Iranian commercial vessels, and the taking of their crews as hostages in a manner resembling piracy.

The Mission asserted: "It is well-known that many members joined this resolution under political pressure, coercion, and even threats."

The post concluded by stating: "The claims made by the U.S. representative regarding broad international support are nothing but a desperate attempt to manufacture legitimacy for predetermined political goals, undermine the credibility of the UN Security Council, and provide political cover for illegal actions."
