France denies presence of Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier in Strait of Hormuz
Tehran - BORNA - The French Ministry of the Armed Forces confirmed that the Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier is not presently in the Strait of Hormuz, explaining that its movements are part of a broader naval mission in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden region.
According to Al Mayadeen, the ministry stated that the carrier's strike group continues to carry out missions related to ensuring the freedom of navigation in international waterways, within the framework of multinational cooperation in the region, without directly entering the Strait of Hormuz.
This clarification was issued following media reports suggesting the presence or movement of the aircraft carrier near the strait, which the Ministry of the Armed Forces indirectly denied by specifying the course of its ongoing naval operations.
These movements take place within the context of escalating regional tensions in the Red Sea and its surrounding waters, where several international naval forces continue to conduct surveillance and protection missions for commercial shipping.
