Iran’s Final Squad for 2026 World Cup Announced
The final squad of the Iranian national football team for the 2026 World Cup has been officially announced.

Tehran - BORNA - The list of the Iranian national football team for participation in the 2026 World Cup was released.

The head coach of the national team, Amir Ghalenoei, introduced the names of the 26 players to take part in the World Cup matches, which are as follows:

Alireza Beiranvand, Seyed Hossein Hosseini, Seyed Payam Niazmand, Ehsan Hajsafi, Milad Mohammadi, Ali Nemati, Danial Iri, Shojae Khalilzadeh, Mohammad Hossein Kanaanizadegan, Arya Yousefi, Saleh Hardani, Ramin Rezaeian, Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Saeid Ezatolahi, Rouzbeh Cheshmi, Amirmohammad Razaghnia, Mohammad Mohebi, Mehdi Ghayedi, Saman Ghoddos, Mohammad Gorbani, Mehdi Torabi, Ali Alipour, Shahriyar Moghanlou, Denis Dargahi, Amirhossein Hosseinzadeh, and Mehdi Taremi.

According to the technical staff's announcement, Mohammad Khalifeh and Omid Nourafkan will accompany the national team on the trip to the World Cup by being placed on the standby list, and will be substituted in the event of any player injury up to 24 hours before the matches. Furthermore, Kasra Taheri, Hadi Habibinejad, and Amirhossein Mahmoudi missed out on the World Cup squad.

The Football Federation further stated that upon the proposal of the national team's head coach, Hadi Habibinejad, Kasra Taheri, and Amirhossein Mahmoudi may, if they wish, accompany the Iranian team on the trip to Mexico in order to maintain their technical and psychological conditions for future national team matches in the AFC Asian Cup.

The Iranian national football team will face New Zealand in the United States in its first match of the World Cup tournament.
