Ghalibaf: The Era of Cost-Free Threats Against Iran Has Expired
Tehran - BORNA - The full text of the statement issued by the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly on June 3 (marking the eve of June 4/Khordad 14) is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful Peace be upon you, O Spirit of God, the righteous servant obedient to Allah, His Messenger, and the Commander of the Faithful.
The event-filled month of Khordad is deeply intertwined with both the dawn of Imam Khomeini's movement—an Imam who spoke only for God and stepped only in His path, awakening the Islamic nation of Iran—and its fourteenth day, which marks the heavenly ascension of the spiritual guide to the world's freedom seekers and the commencement of the leadership of the martyred Leader of the Revolution. This month serves as an invaluable opportunity to reread the foundational identity of the Islamic Revolution and renew our allegiance to the lofty ideals of the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
This year's Khordad, however, carries a distinctly different atmosphere. As we honor the memory of the great founder of the Islamic Revolution, the absence of the wise, courageous, and mujahid Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the late Martyr Ayatollah al-Uzma Imam Khamenei, is felt more profoundly than ever at the podium of the Holy Shrine. While the martyrdom of that divine leader left a massive wound in the hearts of the Iranian nation and the Islamic Ummah, it once again demonstrated to the world the grandeur of the Imam’s path, the structural solidity of the Islamic Revolution, and the unmatched resilience of the Iranian people.
Though "Leader Seyyed Ali Khamenei" is physically no longer among us, "Martyr Khamenei" has, through his pure blood, extended and guaranteed the continuity of the movement of the great Khomeini, passing the banner of dignity, independence, and resistance to future generations even higher than before.
On the cusp of the auspicious Eid al-Ghadir Khumm—the day of the perfection of religion and completion of divine favor—وe send our salutations to the sublime soul of the revivalist of pure Muhammadan Islam, Hazrat Imam Ruhollah Musavi Khomeini, and the holy soul of the martyred Imam of the Islamic Revolution, Hazrat Ayatollah Khamenei. We hereby declare our renewed allegiance to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Hazrat Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei.
Relying on the progressive principle of Velayat-e Faqih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist)—which is the continuation of the leadership of the Messenger of Allah and the Imams of Guidance—the Islamic Movement, the Islamic Republic, and the Revolution will powerfully continue their path of progress, dignity, and authority under the guidance of the wise Leader of the Revolution. Today, the world is witnessing the military might of Islamic Iran, the battlefield bravery and marvels achieved by the children of this nation, the conscious presence of the citizens on the scene, and our beloved country's scientific and technological achievements.
Imam Ruhollah taught the Iranian nation independence, anti-imperialism, bravery against material powers, and reliance on the inexhaustible power of the Almighty, giving practical meaning to the promise of divine victory on the battlefield. He also taught officials the necessity of being people-centric, stating: "Act in a way that wins the hearts of the people. Establish a base among the masses. When you establish a base among the people, God is pleased with you, the nation is pleased with you, power will remain in your hands, and the public will back you."
The Elder of Jamaran consistently emphasized the independence and dignity of Iran, identifying the United States as the "Great Satan" and the ultimate enemy of the Iranian people, famously stating: "I say with absolute confidence that Islam will bring the superpowers to their knees in humiliation. America cannot do a damn thing. We will trample America underfoot. The great nation of Iran has descended upon America like a thunderbolt."
Imam Khomeini taught the Iranian nation never to retreat in the face of bullying and hegemony. Today, inspired by that very school of thought, the Iranian nation has demonstrated in its battle against the United States and the Zionist regime that the era of cost-free threats against Iran has expired, and any aggression will face a decisive, proportional, and deeply regrettable response.
Indeed, though Imam Khomeini and the martyred Imam Khamenei are not physically present among us, their path remains vibrant. Millions of soldiers of this school of thought act as guardians of the ideals of the Islamic Revolution across fields of national defense, in the streets, in construction and development, and across various social and political arenas.
The soldiers of the legislative branch in the Islamic Consultative Assembly likewise consider it their bounden duty to deploy their utmost capabilities along the path of the testaments and ideals of the two late Leaders of the Revolution, and in absolute compliance with the Guardian of Muslims, to resolve the grievances of the citizens, elevate our beloved Iran, and fulfill the high objectives of the Islamic Revolution. It is our sincere hope that through the diligent efforts of all servants of the Islamic system, this precious trust of the revolution's martyrs will reach its ultimate destination, securing the satisfaction of Hazrat Baqiyatallah al-A'zam (may God hasten his glad advent), which is the supreme reward for any sincere service.
