Interior Minister: Iran-Pakistan $10 Billion Trade Target Will Be Operationalized
Tehran - BORNA - During a meeting today with his Pakistani counterpart, Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Momeni expressed hope for a substantial upgrade in bilateral ties during their respective tenures.
Highlighting the deep-rooted affection and friendship between the two nations, Momeni noted: "God willing, once the current circumstances pass, we will travel to Pakistan alongside Iran's economic ministers. We are equally prepared to host Pakistani ministers in Tehran to foster a tangible advancement in relations."
Reflecting on their discussions from the previous day, Momeni referred to the objective of increasing the annual bilateral trade volume to $10 billion. "Achieving this target, which was raised during our session, is entirely within reach through the mutual determination of both countries," he asserted.
The Iranian Interior Minister added that this goal places a heavier responsibility on both ministries to establish and operationalize the executive frameworks required for this critical process.
Syed Mohsin Naqvi also expressed optimism, stating: "I hope that through your efforts and those of Foreign Minister Araghchi, we will witness a further strengthening of relations between the two countries."
The newly appointed Pakistani Ambassador to Iran was also in attendance at the meeting.
